Commissioner Rich is submitting Patrick Haggerty for appointment to serve on the Homeless Continuum of Care Board the category of "One representative of a recipient or subrecipient of a HUD Emergency Solutions Grant."

Pursuant to Section 12.153(a)(16), Broward County Administrative Code, this appointment is not subject to Section 1-233(b)(3), Broward County Code of Ordinances, that stipulates "No County employee may be appointed by the County Commission to an advisory board or other board" and allows for the position to be nominated by a Broward County Commissioner.

Approval of this item would give rise to certain employment conflicts under Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, which provides that "no public officer...shall have or hold any employment or contractual relationship with an...
