Summary Explanation/Background

Section 1-51.6 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances establishes the County’s Prompt Payment Policy, which sets standards for the timely payment of vendors for goods and services. This item directs the County Attorney’s Office to draft an amendment to the County’s Prompt Payment Policy to reflect recent changes to the County’s payment practices and to incorporate legislative changes to the Local Government Prompt Payment Act, as outlined in Sections 218.70 through 218.80 of the Florida Statutes.
