Summary Explanation/Background
THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE RISK MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND THE APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Broward County Finance and Administrative Services Department (FASD) requests authorization for Amy Lanham, Director of Risk Management, and Christopher Clouse, Risk Manager of Risk Management, to travel to London, England from December 12 - 18, 2026. The purpose of the travel is to attend the 2027-2028 property renewal meetings with Lloyds of London Underwriters (Exhibit 1).

FASD and Risk Management have determined that meeting face-to-face with the underwriters is especially important, as the meetings will highlight leadership’s knowledge of the program, associated risks, and risk-reduction activities. Further, discussions will include the County’s focus and commitment to resiliency efforts, especially in the context of the County-wide Risk Assessment and Resilience Plan and the related economic benefits analysis.
