Summary Explanation/Background
This item presents a proposed grant agreement with Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital Nonprofit Corporation in furtherance of the goals of the Broward Heart Project: to provide free coronary computed tomography angiography ("CCTA") tests for Broward County residents to enable the individual participants, together with their medical advisors, to make better informed decisions to improve their heart health and to save lives.

The Broward Heart Project previously utilized a third-party administrator, South Florida Community Care Network, LLC ("SydCura"), to provide administration and coordinate CCTA tests for Broward County residents. The continuation of the project's mission through a grant to a local hospital will enable the County's dollars to be utilized to the maximum benefit of the community.

The proposed agreement would provide the remainder of the previously allocated funding to Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital to continue to provide heart tests to Broward County residents. The new agreement retains the same reimbursement rate for CCTA tests ($500/test), but avoids the administrative expenses previously charged by SydCura.
