MOTION TO APPROVE or deny award of a new Class 3 - Basic Life Support (BLS) Transport Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to Angelet's Non-Emergency Wheelchair Transport LLC ("company"), with award contingent on the company entering into an agreement with the County, for future consideration by the Board, to establish ambulance transport rates, a fee forgiveness program, and a mechanism to defray the administrative costs of monitoring the company.

Pursuant to Chapter 31/2-6(f) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, a public hearing must be held to consider the award or denial of a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides the Board of County Commissioners with an opportunity to receive public comments concerning an applicant seeking to provide Class 3 - BLS Transport services within Broward County.

THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Chapter 31/2 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (Code) requires that a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) be obtained from the County prior to a person, firm, corporation, or association providing BLS services within Broward County, Florida. Approval of the motion awards a Class 3 - BLS Transport COPCN to Angelet's Non-Emergency Wheelchair Transport LLC (Applicant). A Class 3 - BLS Transport COPCN is valid for the time period established by the Board, not to exceed five years.
