MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and The Broward Alliance, Inc. d/b/a Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (the "Alliance"), for the implementation of strategies for economic growth, job creation, and expansion of local tax base, for a five-year term commencing on October 1, 2026, and ending on September 30, 2031, in an amount not to exceed $13,325,634; and to authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.

THE OFFICE OF ECONOMIC AND SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board of County Commissioners' Goal of "ensuring economic opportunities and a sustainable economy, with an emphasis on Broward's lower and middle class."
In January 2022, the County entered into an economic development partnership agreement with the Alliance to assist the County in implementing strategies for economic growth, job creation, and expansion of local tax base, and to carry out the purposes expressed in the Job Growth/Economic Development Incentives Act. The current agreement expires on September 30, 2026, and a new proposed agreement has been developed to continue the County's economic development efforts with the Alliance.
