MOTION TO APPROVE Three Party Escrow Agreement between Broward County, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services, Division of Treasury (Escrow Agent), providing for the County to deposit the total estimated cost of $521,596 into an escrow account to fund construction of fiber optic infrastructure upgrades and expansion along SR-814/Atlantic Boulevard from SR-7/US-441 to SR-9/I-95. Why Action is Necessary
A. and B. Board of County Commissioners’ approval is required to enter into legal agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides funding from Broward County to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for construction of fiber optic infrastructure upgrades and expansion along SR-814/Atlantic Boulevard from SR-7/US-441 to SR-9/I-95 to be included as part of FDOT’s construction project; and provides for County to maintain any portion of FDOT’s construction project under the Locally Funded Agreement for the project’s useful life.
Establishes an escrow account with the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services, Division of Treasury for County‘s payment to FDOT for the construction of County’s fiber optic infrastructure expansion project along SR-814/Atlantic Boulevard (from SR-7/US-441 to SR-9/I-95).
