Summary Explanation/Background
Broward County, through Visit Lauderdale and the Broward Cultural Division, provides vital support for festivals and special events throughout the County. These events showcase Broward County's broad array of cultural and artistic talent and, in many cases, attract visitors from outside the County.
Under the Arts & Cultural Festival and Special Event Sponsorship Program, festivals and special events that receive funding from Visit Lauderdale are not eligible to receive funding under the Program for the same event. As a result, applicants whose events would otherwise qualify for funding under both programs must choose to apply to only one.
This item will allow the Board to discuss whether this limitation should be removed.
