MOTION TO AWARD open-end contract to New Flyer of America, Inc., under the Jacksonville Transportation Authority Contract No. P-23-030, for the purchase of New Flyer 40-Foot Hybrid Heavy-Duty Transit Buses, for the Broward County Transportation Department, in the four-year estimated amount of $85,000,000, subject to the execution of a Participating Addendum.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.47 (a), Award and Execution Authority, the Board shall make all awards, and authorize the execution of associated contracts, with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided in the contract.
Pursuant to Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.27, Purchases from Other Government Contracts, the Director of Purchasing may purchase goods or services under any procurement contract held by a governmental agency or nonprofit entity, or the County may enter into its own contract with the vendor under the originating contract provided that the originating contract was competitively procured, authorizes such purchases, and the terms offered to the County do not materially deviate from the originating contract.
