Summary Explanation/Background
THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Broward County Administrative Code Section 27.188(d) requires the Accounting Division, with the assistance of the Resilient Environment Department, to prepare and submit an annual report to the Board for the projects funded and the disbursements made from the Tree Preservation Trust Fund.
The Tree Preservation Trust Fund annual report includes the total fund balance of $1,095,015 as of September 30, 2024. Total revenue for the referenced time period was $117,823. Total funds disbursed during the referenced time period was $190,385 (Exhibit 1). Projects ongoing and in the conceptual design phase are estimated to total $50,952, as the Total Encumbered for Municipal Funding was $20,107 and Total Encumbered for Countywide Funding was $32,465 (Exhibit 2), leaving a reserve for future projects in the amount of $1,044,063.
