MOTION TO APPROVE Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and the Town of Davie for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a lighting system along Nob Hill Road from Orange Drive to Whispering Pines Road, at an estimated construction cost of $398,000 to the County; and authorize the Contract Administrator to approve any amendments that do not pose any additional material risk or cost to the County, subject to review and approval for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney’s Office. THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Broward County Mobility Advancement Program (“MAP”) goal to “enhance multimodal options” by “improving safety of multimodal travel options.”
Nob Hill Road from Orange Drive to Whispering Pines Road is a County road in the Town of Davie. Broward County and the Town of Davie agreed that it would be mutually beneficial to the residents to install a lighting system along both sides of this road segment to improve safety for all users. The street lighting project funded by Transportation Surtax is included in the Five-Year Capital Program for Fiscal Year 2025-2029.
