Summary Explanation/Background

Pursuant to Section 6 of the Broward County Land Use Plan “Implementation Requirements and Procedures” and a request from the City of Hollywood (“City”), the Broward County Planning Council (“Planning Council”) conducted a public hearing on February 26, 2026, to consider the land use for the property located at 1301 S. Ocean Drive in the City. The Planning Council’s Formal Interpretation, dated March 4, 2026, is attached as Exhibit 1. On April 28, 2026, the Commission approved the request of former Hollywood City Manager George R. Keller, Jr. for a review of the Formal Interpretation. Mr. Keller’s letter is attached as Exhibit 2.

 

Additional Material distributed at the April 28, 2026, meeting on behalf of Dennis Mele, Esq., and Andrew Schein, Esq., is attached as Exhibits 3 and 4. The Planning Council agenda package from the February 26, 2026, meeting is attached as Exhibit 5.
