A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES; AMENDING SECTION 38.39 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE") TO PRESCRIBE A REVISED FRANCHISE FEE RATE AND REVISED LICENSE FEES FOR WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES IN THE OPEN MARKET AREA; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish notice of public hearing to consider adoption of the Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") at its meeting of February 17, 2026.

THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Broward County is responsible for ensuring collection, hauling, and transportation services for solid waste generated within the unincorporated areas of Broward County, including the portion known as the "Open Market Area." Private waste collectors that wish to provide hauling services in the Open Market Area must first receive a license from Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services Division (Exhibit 2).
