Summary Explanation/Background
The Claimant is a 71-year-old former Administrative Assistant with the Broward County Environmental and Consumer Protection Division who sustained multiple work-related injuries while in the course and scope of employment.
On January 12, 2004, the Claimant reported numbness in both hands and arms due to excessive use. This claim reached final status on September 14, 2010, and remains inactive.
On March 21, 2005, the Claimant slipped in a stairwell and fell three steps, resulting in injuries to multiple body parts. Treatment has included therapy and pain management and remains ongoing.
On August 16, 2021, the Claimant reported symptoms consistent with carpal tunnel and was diagnosed with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. Claimant treated with therapy, injections, and medication, bilateral carpal tunnel release surgery was recommended, but the Claimant declined.
