Broward County is home to young people from many different backgrounds whose perspectives and participation are essential to the County's continued growth and success. County policies and funded programs related to transportation, housing, economic opportunity, sustainability, technology, mental health, and workforce development directly impact young residents.
Creating a Broward County Youth Commission would establish a formal structure for youth engagement, empowering students and young residents to participate meaningfully in civic leadership, policy development, and community initiatives.
The proposed Youth Commission would advise the County Commission on issues affecting young people across Broward County. It would also promote civic participation, leadership growth, and collaboration among County government, schools, nonprofits, and other community partners.
