Summary Explanation/Background
Section 29.0081, Florida Statutes, permits the County and the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida (the "Court") to enter into a written agreement to delineate their respective powers, privileges, and responsibilities concerning certain County-funded court personnel who support information technology, court mediation and arbitration, and victim advocacy operations.

On September 9, 2014 (Agenda Item No. 20), the County and the Court entered into an agreement relating to County Funded Court Positions. The proposed amendment revises the number of County-funded positions and updates the terms and conditions of the agreement to clarify the County's and the Court's responsibilities.

This agreement is effective from the date it is fully executed through September 30, 2025, with automatic one-year renewals, unless either party timely elects to opt out of the agreement.
