MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO THE BROWARD MUNICIPAL SERVICES DISTRICT (“BMSD”) ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM; CREATING PART VI OF CHAPTER 19, INCLUDING SECTIONS 19.41 THROUGH 19.43, OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE (“ADMINISTRATIVE CODE”); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish notice of public hearing to consider adoption of the Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners (“Commission”) at its meeting of October 20, 2026.

This item supports the Commission’s Goal: “Ensuring economic opportunities and a sustainable economy, with an emphasis on Broward’s lower and middle class.”
On October 6, 2026, the Commission directed the County Attorney’s Office to draft a Resolution amending the Broward County Administrative Code to establish the administrative framework for the Broward Municipal Services District (“BMSD”) Economic Development Program. This proposed Resolution, if adopted, would codify the BMSD Economic Development Program and provide a framework for the consistent administration and oversight of economic development programs within the BMSD.
