MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, Inc., for Design and Consulting Services for Cruise Terminal 4 and Berth Improvements, RFP No. PNC2123285P1, for the Port Everglades Department; for a lump sum amount of $310,000 for services related to Phase 1, a maximum not-to-exceed amount of $1,800,000 for Phases 2 - 5, and $200,000 for reimbursables, for a total agreement not-to-exceed amount of $2,310,000; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. The term of this agreement will be retroactive from February 11, 2022 through October 1, 2024.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, Board approval is required for awards exceeding $500,000.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves the agreement with Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, Inc. to provide professional construction design and consulting services for interior and exterior improvements to Cruise Terminal 4, the adjacent berth and wharf, and construction administration services for the entire project.

THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PORT EVERGLADES DEPARTMENT/SEAPORT ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION DIVISON RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action supports the Board's Goal to increase the economic strength and impact of revenue-generating County enterprises balancing economic, environmental, and community needs.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development established a County Business Enterprise (CBE) participation goal of 25%. Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, Inc. committed to 25% CBE participation (Exhibit 2).
