Summary Explanation/Background

Pursuant to the County Charter, the OIG’s budget is subject to approval by the County Commission, and the Commission “shall provide sufficient funds for the Inspector General to carry out the Inspector General’s duties in an efficient manner.” Mayor Bogen was contacted by Joshua Rydell, who, in addition to being a municipal elected official, is a practicing attorney. Mr. Rydell had a recent experience with the OIG that will provide helpful information to the Commission as it considers the OIG’s Fiscal Year 2027 funding.
