Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.53(a), Duration of Contracts, unless otherwise provided by law or excepted herein, a County contract shall not exceed five years in duration, inclusive of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract, without the express approval of the Board.

What Action Accomplishes
Provides for a revenue-generating Agreement for services by an operator for food and beverage at the Hollywood North Beach Park snack bar for the Parks and Recreation Division.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) did not assign County Business Enterprise (CBE) goals for this project (Exhibit 2). This is a revenue generating project that is not County funded.

Section 1-81.3(a) of the Code of Ordinances provides for the setting of a CBE goal of at least 25% unless the Board of County Commissioners or County Administrator (under limited circumstances) approves a different goal, or no goal based upon a written determination by the Director of the Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD).
