MOTION TO APPROVE Referral Agreement No. VB125-15-2026 between Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc., and Broward County, in the estimated amount of $180,000 to the County, effective October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, to provide case management services to eligible Veterans residing in Broward County; authorize the County Administrator to execute amendments to the Agreement, subject to legal sufficiency review and approval by the County Attorney's Office, provided such amendments do not impose any additional financial obligations on the County; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.

THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE ELDERLY AND VETERANS SERVICES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action supports the Commission's value of "building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives" and the goal of "delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately." This Agreement funds case management services to eligible Broward County Veterans to prevent their premature institutionalization and nursing home placement.
Retroactive approval is requested because Referral Agreement No. VB125-15-2026, (Exhibit 1) was not finalized until January 14, 2026.
