Broward County is a globally connected community with strong economic, governmental, tourism, educational, and cultural ties spanning Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and other international regions. The County's status as a key international gateway is enhanced by Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which together drive global commerce, tourism, and trade.
The proposed Broward County Sister Cities and International Partnerships Advisory Board ("Advisory Board") would advise the Commission and offer strategic recommendations on international partnerships, cultural and educational exchanges, tourism promotion, economic development, and intergovernmental cooperation initiatives that benefit Broward County residents and businesses.
