Why Action is Necessary
Section 2-40(a) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances requires that the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") authorize any commercial activities or occupy any portion of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("FLL") for any purpose unless specifically authorized by Broward County ("County").
What Action Accomplishes
Approves the Terminal Building Lease Agreement ("TBLA") between the County and Menzies Aviation (USA), Inc., ("Menzies") to lease space in Terminal 4 ("T4") in accordance with the provisions of the TBLA, which establishes the payment of rent for the leased space at FLL.

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action approves the TBLA between the County and Menzies to lease space in T4 at FLL.
On November 1, 2021, the Director of Aviation approved a Short-Term TBLA between the Broward County Aviation Department ("BCAD") and Menzies, to lease and use space in T4 to provide ground handling services at FLL. The current TBLA expires on October 31, 2022.
The proposed TBLA allows Menzies to continue leasing 543 square feet of operations space in T4, Ramp Level, to continue providing ground handling services at FLL.
