Previous Action Taken
On April 26, 2022, the Board adopted the Land Use Plan Amendment (Agenda Item No. 44A).

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARMENT AND HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The City of Oakland Park is requesting approval to remove the voluntary commitment in connection with Broward County Land Use Plan Amendment (LUPA) PC 21-7 and PCT 21-4 requiring an amendment to the Tri-Party Education Mitigation Agreement. The Board adopted the LUPA on April 26, 2022, however, the amendments are not yet effective. This request will release the City of Oakland Park from the voluntary commitment and allow recertification of the Land Use Plan. No other commitment or amendments are being modified with this request.

The Broward County Planning Council has no objection to this request and provided additional information for the Board’s consideration in Exhibit 3. This application was routed to the Broward County School Board; their response is attached at Exhibit 4.
