MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East, to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 26-1), to update Policy 2.23.2 regarding Environmentally Sensitive Lands, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, TRANSMITTING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, AMENDING POLICY 2.23.2 REGARDING ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE LANDS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.
What Action Accomplishes
The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for February 3, 2026, to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of proposed map amendment PCT 26-1, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.
