Summary Explanation/Background
District 8's office has remaining Fiscal Year 2024 ("FY24") budgeted funds that it would like to use to support the community service programs of Zeta Chi 1954 Education and Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) entity located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The charity's community service programs include mentoring, food drives, literacy programs, and community restoration programs. District 8's goal is to provide $29,000 in FY24 leftover office funds to further the community services programs of this charity.

County Commission District 8 only recently determined the amount of remaining funds in the office account for FY24. A budget item on the December 10, 2024, agenda (Item No. 79) includes the necessary budgetary action to permit this allocation of leftover FY24 funds for County Commission District 8.
