Why Action is Necessary

In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.53, Duration of Contracts, a County contract shall not exceed five years in duration without the express approval of the Board.

 

What Action Accomplishes

Extends the current agreement term for employee benefits consulting services through December 31, 2025.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT/HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

Approval of the Fifth Amendment to Agreement No. R2114673P1 between Broward County and USI Insurance Services LLC will extend the contract term on a month-to-month basis for 12 months beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025. The extended term will 1) allow continuity of consulting services and 2) provide County staff additional time to complete solicitation RLI No. GEN2128177R1 which is currently in progress.
