THE OFFICE OF ECONOMIC AND SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This item supports the Board of County Commissioners' Vision of “From sawgrass to seagrass, an inclusive and resilient community with a thriving quality of life”, and Goal of “Ensuring economic opportunities and a sustainable economy, with an emphasis on Broward's lower and middle class."

On March 3, 2015, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) approved in concept the creation of an economic development program for the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD) at its economic development workshop. On September 15, 2016, the Board approved the BMSD Economic Development Program (Agenda Item No. 77) to support revitalization of the BMSD’s commercial corridors.

On October 7, 2025, the Board approved updated descriptions of the BMSD Economic Development Program components and authorized their continuation for Fiscal Years 2026 and 2027, with agreements limited to a maximum term of two years and not extending beyond September 30, 2027, without further Boar...
