Why Action is Necessary
Section 2-40(a) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances requires that the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") authorize any commercial activities or occupation of any portion of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("FLL") for any purpose unless specifically authorized by Broward County ("County").
What Action Accomplishes
Approves the Terminal Building Lease Agreement between County and WestJet to lease and use space in Terminal 2, in accordance with the provisions of the Terminal Building Lease Agreement, which establishes the payment of rent for the leased space at FLL.

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action approves the Terminal Building Lease Agreement ("TBLA") between County and WestJet for the lease and use of airline ticket office space in Terminal 2 ("T2") at FLL.
On October 6, 2020 (Item No. 2), the Board approved a TBLA between County and WestJet to lease and use 218 square feet of airline ticket office space in Terminal 1 ("T1") to provide airline service. The current TBLA expires on November 16, 2025.
