A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, TRANSMITTING TO DESIGNATED STATE AGENCIES A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE WATER MANAGEMENT ELEMENT OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Section 163.3177(6)(c)(4), Florida Statutes requires Broward County to adopt a Water Supply Facilities Work Plan (WSFWP), in its Comprehensive Plan, within 18 months of a Regional Water Supply Plan Update.

Previous Action Taken
On August 10, 2025, the Board initiated amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan and its WSFWP to incorporate any changes needed due to adoption of the 2023-2024 Lower East Coast Regional Water Supply Plan Update by the South Florida Water Management District.
On November 13, 2025, the Board set a public hearing to consider transmitting the proposed amendment to designated state review agencies.
