Summary Explanation/Background
Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) are federally designated areas that offer customs and tax-related benefits to promote international trade and investment. These zones can enhance the competitiveness of local businesses, attract new industries, and support regional job growth. Broward County has two foreign trade zones, FTZ No. 25 Port Everglades and FTZ No. 241 City of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE).
This item provides an opportunity for the Board to discuss the current status of FTZs in Broward County and explore how the County can more effectively engage with FTZ stakeholders to maximize their economic potential.
