Why Action is Necessary

Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (“Land Development Code”) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Approves a plat note amendment subject to staff recommendations and conditions ensuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

 

This plat is located on approximately 9.2 acres on the west side of Northwest 3 Avenue, between Copans Road and Northwest 19 Court, in the City of Pompano Beach. This plat is currently restricted to a 20,000 square foot fire station and 10,000 square foot police station.

 

The applicant is requesting to amend the note on the face of the plat as follows: This plat is restricted to 60,000 square feet of government facilities.

 

The Development Review Report is attached (Exhibit 1).
