MOTION TO APPROVE Grant Application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration in the amount of $3,238,574 for the grant period of March 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, to provide core medical and support services in addition to planning, evaluation, and training services for persons living with HIV/AIDS; authorize the County Administrator to execute and implement the grant upon receipt, subject to review and approval for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney's Office, and to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions related to the grant.

Why Action is Necessary
Section 20.31(b)(3), Broward County Administrative Code, requires that the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") approves all state and federal grant agreements.
What Action Accomplishes
Approval will enable Broward County to apply for federal funding to continue providing health care and support services to eligible Broward County residents living with HIV/AIDS.

THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action supports the Commission's value of "building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives" and the goal of "delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately." Securing federal grant funding will facilitate the continued provision of needed services to eligible Broward County residents living with HIV/AIDS.
