MOTION TO APPROVE Joint Participation Agreement (Agreement) between Broward County (County) and the City of Wilton Manors (City) for relocation, disposal, and adjustment of certain City utilities, at the City’s expense, related to the County’s Andrews Avenue Corridor Project from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard; and authorize the Director of County’s Highway Construction and Engineering Division to approve any amendments to the Agreement that do not increase Broward County’s financial obligations, subject to review and approval for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney’s Office. This item supports the MAP Broward goal to “enhance multimodal options: improve safety of multimodal travel options, and expand facilities for walking, bicycling, transit, and micro-mobility.”
Broward County is making improvements to an approximately two-mile segment of Andrews Avenue (a County road) from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard, known as the Andrews Avenue Corridor Project. The improvements include the construction of wider pedestrian paths, median islands, midblock crossings, additional turn lanes, mast arm replacements, signalization upgrades at several intersections, and drainage and lighting improvements within the project corridor....
