Summary Explanation/Background
During discussion of the Joint Government Center Campus (the "Project") by the Unified Direct Procurement Authority ("UDPA") on December 10, 2019, a Board consensus was expressed directing the Office of the County Attorney to draft an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Fort Lauderdale ("ILA") to expand the ILA's current limited scope. Under the current ILA, the authority of the UDPA is limited to the review and selection of a consultant to provide professional services for needs assessment, programming, and the preparation of a design criteria package. The proposed amendment would expand the authority of the UDPA to consider all procurement matters related to the Project including, but not limited to, those related to design, construction, and review of proposals received from third parties (including solicited or unsolicited proposals).
