Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

On April 3, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 2012-271, authorizing the establishment of a financially feasible No Kill Strategic Plan, with the intent to become a No Kill Community. As part of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget process, the Board approved funding to the Animal Care and Adoption Division to add a wellness clinic at the main Division shelter. The wellness clinic is intended to be self-supported by revenues generated from wellness clinic services, following a ramp up period.
