Summary Explanation/Background

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT/THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

Attached is a request for ten County employees from the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department to attend a mandatory training in Lake City, Florida (Exhibit 3).

 

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Tank Inspector Training Conference is scheduled for March 31 through April 2, 2020. The FDEP had requested that all storage tank facility inspectors attend to ensure compliance with the Compliance Verification Contract GC920 (Exhibit 1). There are no registration fees for the training and the FDEP will reimburse the County for travel costs (Exhibit 2).

The estimated travel costs of $3,770 will be reimbursed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
