THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Mr. Kroll is employed by Miller Legg and Associates, Inc. and is also a member of the Bicycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). Miller Legg and Associates is a consulting firm which has contracts with the County. Mr. Kroll's appointment on the BPAC is via the Broward League of Cities.
Pursuant to Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, public officers, including advisory board members, may not "have or hold any employment or contractual relationship with any business entity which is subject to the regulation of, or which is doing business with, an agency of which he or she is an officer or employee." In accordance with Section 112.313(12), Florida Statutes, the Board may waive any conflict arising under Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, by a two-thirds vote after full disclosure of the conflicting relationship. Florida Commission on Ethics Form 4A, Disclosure of Business Transaction, Relationship or Interest, is attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and constitutes full disclosure of any existing conflicts.
