THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION (ECPD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This item supports the Board's Value of cooperatively delivering an efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network and Goal 1: Provide a safe, sustainable, integrated and efficient transportation system to enhance Broward County's economy and livability.

Approval of this item permits ECPD to temporarily suspend certain fees and practices to help mitigate impacts to the VFH industry resulting from the COVID-19 Pandemic. Section 253.38(3)(a)(5), Florida Statutes, provides that the Board may "waive the procedures and formalities otherwise required of the political subdivision by law pertaining to... [p]erformance of public work and taking whatever prudent action is necessary to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community."
