Summary Explanation/Background

The proposed Resolution sets forth an amendment to the Broward County Charter that, if approved by the Broward County electorate during the 2020 General Election, would establish that Broward County ordinances with respect to the development, on County property, of regional facilities intended to serve a public purpose would prevail over any conflicting Municipal ordinances.  Six (6) affirmative votes are required to pass this Resolution.

Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary

Pursuant to Section 11.07 of the Broward County Charter, the County Auditor has reviewed the proposed amendment to the Charter and determined that the amendment would have no financial impact to Broward County.  A memorandum from the County Auditor will be distributed as Additional Material.
