On June 2, 2020, the Board approved Resolution 2020-311 transmitting the proposed amendment to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and other state agencies for review (Item No. 47). On August 25, 2020, the Board adopted a Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on September 10, 2020.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (EPGMD), THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY (LPA), AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes requires that the Comprehensive Plan contain a Capital Improvements Element (CIE) which must include a schedule of capital improvements showing publicly funded projects. The schedule identifies federal, state, and local projects necessary to achieve adopted level-of-service standards. The schedule also includes transportation improvements from the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization's transportation improvement program.
