COUNTY ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Section 2.6 of the Administrative Code states that acting department directors shall serve for a period of time not to exceed six months, unless such term is extended by a majority vote of the Board.
On February 11, 2020 (Item No. 49), the Board approved Mr. Lindy “Steve” Hammond’s initial appointment to serve as Acting Director of Public Works Department for a period of up to six months, which expired on August 11, 2020. Mr. Hammond has agreed to continue to serve as Acting Director of Public Works until February 11, 2021, as the recruitment process for a permanent Director of the Public Works Department is underway.
