This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the County has implemented certain measures intended to avoid spread of COVID-19, which measures include a general prohibition on gatherings in excess of ten people. Special outdoor events are permitted only if an operational plan outlining safety measures, sanitization, and security, among other things, is submitted to and approved by the County Administrator. The organizers of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show have submitted an operational plan to County Administration.
This item will allow the Board to discuss whether the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show should be permitted to operate this year pursuant to an operational plan the organizers have submitted to the Broward County Administrator in accordance with the applicable Broward County Emergency Orders.
