Summary Explanation/Background

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE RISK MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

On May 8, 2018 (Item No. 29), the Board approved the filing of the County Auditor’s Report No. 18-20, Audit of the Risk Management Division Workers’ Compensation Section. The County Auditor recommended current, formal, and detailed agreements be executed with the entities for which Broward County provides workers’ compensation coverage.

 

Broward County and Broward County Supervisor of Elections desire to enter into an Interlocal Agreement to provide workers’ compensation coverage for qualifying Supervisor of Elections employees. The Interlocal Agreement will commence on October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023 for a three-year period, with up to two additional one-year renewal options. The agreement terminates all other agreements (Exhibit 2).

There is no additional fiscal impact or cost to the County. The services provided by the County in the Interlocal Agreement will continue to be provided by existing staff and resources.
