MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2020-521 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of the Governmental Center to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO EMPLOYEE RETENTION AT FORT LAUDERDALE-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ("AIRPORT"); AMENDING SECTIONS 26.40 AND 26.41 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); PROVIDING FOR EMPLOYEE RETENTION PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS AT THE AIRPORT; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Chapter 26 of the Broward County Administrative Code requires that contractors and subcontractors providing certain services at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("Airport") pursuant to a contract with a term greater than six months comply with certain worker retention requirements. The smooth and continuous operation of Airport services is important to the viability and growth of the Airport.
