Summary Explanation/Background
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On June 12, 2018, Agenda Item 43, the Board of County Commissioners approved the License and Concession Agreement between Broward County and U.S. Soccer 5, LLC (“Soccer 5”) for Mini-Soccer Fields and Food and Beverages Concessions at Brian Piccolo and Tradewinds Parks (“Agreement”). The Agreement provided for full project completion, including phases, deliverables, and commencement of operations, within 24 months of the Effective Date.
As a result of the novel 2019 coronavirus (“COVID-19”), Soccer 5 has requested additional time to meet the requirements of project phases outlined in the Agreement. The First Amendment sets forth an updated timeline for the project phases and deliverables, extending full project completion from 24 months to 36 months of the original Agreement’s Effective Date. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement remain the same.
The First Amendment has been reviewed and approved as to legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney.
