Summary Explanation/Background

The November 3rd, 2020 General Election is an unprecedented one.  Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and concerns regarding health and safety, it is necessary to implement COVID-19 mitigation measures to protect voters and poll workers alike.

The letter attached as Exhibit 1 outlines a series of proposed measures to ensure that every voter can cast a ballot in Broward County without endangering their health and safety and without endangering the health and safety of others, including fellow voters and poll workers.

This item allows for a discussion of the mitigation measures outlined in the letter and the desirability of sending this letter to the Broward County Supervisor of Elections.
