THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE ELDERLY AND VETERANS SERVICES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE REQUESTED ACTION.
This item supports the Commission's Value of "approaching human services collaboratively and compassionately with a special emphasis on the most vulnerable" and the goal to "collaborate with public and private partners to find creative, equitable, and responsible solutions to systemic community problems."
This Agreement provides match funding to the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc. ("Council") to fund an array of support services provided through the Areawide Council to Broward County residents who are 60 years of age or older. Retroactive approval is sought as the Agreement has an effective date of October 1, 2020 but could not be executed until the Commission approved the Fiscal Year 2021 General Fund Operating Budget.
