Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On November 7, 2016, the Director of Purchasing approved a Board standardized agreement between Broward County and Johnson Controls, Inc (JCI) to provide fire alarm and security management services for certain County locations for a total Not-to-Exceed amount of $6,646,000.
On November 6, 2019, the Director of Purchasing approved a First Amendment to the Agreement adding additional County locations with Fire Alarm and Security equipment to be monitored and maintained and increasing the maximum amounts payable to JCI by $988,672 for a total Not-to-Exceed amount of $8,652,493.
This action seeks approval of a Second Amendment to the Agreement between Broward County and JCI, for Fire Alarm and Security Management System Maintenance for Various County facilities. The Second Amendment provides for the addition of equipment (such as security card access readers, intercoms, motion detectors, door electric strikes, power supply, and wireless transmitters) and additional County locations to the Agreement; increases the maximum amounts payable to JCI for the additional equipment and County locations; and increases the contract threshold in the amount of $100,647 for a new total Not-to-Exceed amount of $8,753,140.
