MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2020-545 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of a Public Hearing to be held on November 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., to consider enactment of an Ordinance adopting a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 20-6), located in the City of Coral Springs (Commission District 3), as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the substance of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF CORAL SPRINGS; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.
What Action Accomplishes
The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for November 10, 2020, to consider adoption of proposed map amendment PC 20-6, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed map amendment, PC 20-6, at its May 28, 2020, public hearing and recommended approval, recognizing the applicant’s voluntary commitment to restrict development to a maximum of 147 townhomes, and including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 17-0; Blackwelder, Breslau, Brunson, DiGiorgio, Fernandez, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Hardin, Maxey, Parness, Railey, Rich, Ryan, Williams and Stermer):

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Coral Springs
From Commerce within a Dashed-Line Area to Irregular (4.2) Residential within a Dashed-Line Area
